 | PRESS RELEASE CONTEST 09 PubliGroupe & INMA announce the launch of their 2nd "Innovative Business Models Contest" Lausanne (Switzerland) and Dallas (Texas, USA) 26th February 2009 After the great success in 2008 of the first edition of their "Innovative Business Models Contest", PubliGroupe and INMA have announced the launch of the second edition of this contest designed to identify how media companies are extending their brand to fill a new market space, attract new audiences, and generate new revenue streams. The concept for this competition came about as both INMA and PUBLIGroupe realized the emergency for newspapers to constantly look for new developments in the printed paper as well as other media media channels, content related activities and advertising services, in order to attract new revenues from the marketers. The reality is that most publishers can offer, through various media and platforms, a broad range of services to their audiences as well as to their advertisers and their advertising and media agencies. Format change, digitalization, performance based marketing and advertising networks have already shaken the traditional pricing models for advertising space, and INMA and PUBLIGroupe commit to open the dialog within the industry in addressing the question: "What is next? And what will be the next Newspapers' Innovations?"The deadline for receiving entries to the contest will be April 1st 2009, after which a judging process will yield the announcement of award recipients to be unveiled at the 79th INMA Annual World Congress, taking place May 13 - 15 in Miami, USA. The special INMA/PubliGroupe Innovative Business Models Contest web site has been updated to facilitate entries: http://www.how-do-you-extend-your-media-brand.com. Each case study will be judged based on the merits of the information submitted and not solely on whether the business model was profitable or successful. Contestants will be asked to describe their innovative business model and why they consider it innovative. They will be asked to describe their organisation, competitive landscape, and the background that led to the new business model. Finally, they will be asked for objectives, goals, targets, concept, execution, results, and lessons learned. Three prizes will be given and recognised at the 2009 INMA World Congress. First place and second place prizes will be presented based on a panel of industry expert judges. Meanwhile, a "public prize" will be presented based on online votes by the visitors of the contest web site. “We hope the ‘Innovative Business Models Contest’ fills a void in the newspaper industry conversation today: How do we generate new advertising revenues using our multi-platform capabilities?” said Earl J. Wilkinson, executive director of INMA. “We aspire to use this contest as a tool to learn more about what innovators are doing to change the rules of revenue generation.” About PubliGroupe: PubliGroupe is a marketing and sales organisation dedicated to the sale of advertising space for the media in Switzerland and other countries.
